Pre-Examination Meeting Date set for Newlands Public Local Inquiry
The Newlands Hill Planning Application has now moved to the Department of Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA) and is moving through the Public Local Inquiry (PLI) process. The first step, a Pre-Examination Meeting (PEM), will take place on 6th March 2026.
At this meeting, the DPEA Reporter will meet with Belltown, the East Lothian Council, and any other parties taking part in the PLI to determine the timings and procedures for the Inquiry process, which is likely to take place in the Summer 2026.
The DPEA will be in touch with those members of the public who have previously submitted representations regarding next steps. Any member of the public is able to attend and observe the Inquiry and Hearing sessions, which will take place in person in the local area.
